A Silvaze Christmas Part 5

The door was heard slam shut and the sound echoed back up the hall and into the tense atmosphere of the room. Sonic, Shadow, Silver, and Tails were giving death glares at Major Grimes, who in turn looked at them mockingly. Nothing could be heard except the faint whimpers of Cream and the whispers of Maria trying to calm her down. After the silence that seemed to last for hours, Silver spoke up first, "If you even dare hurt them in ANY way we're going to-" Major Grimes interrupted him, much to Silver's annoyance, "Like I said before hedgehog, I won't do anything unless you refuse to help me. Which clearly isn't an option seeing as I'm in complete control of you. Face it, you've LOST. There's nothing you can do." The room fell silent again and this time even Cream got completely quiet, mostly out of fear. Then a voice was heard from one of the cells. "...Guys.....He's right..." Everyone's heads jerked to the direction of the voice as it continued talking "...I hate saying this but, let's just do what he says." "Tails! How could you say that!?" Cream cried. "She's right! You can't give into him!" Silver added. "Don't you see!? There's nothing we can do! We might as well get it over with!" Tails fought back. "I can't believe what I'm hearing." Sonic shook his head in utter disappointment. "Nonsense, he's making the right choice. It seems you truely are the smartest one here." Major Grimes smirked with satisfaction and walked over to free Tails.

"If it helps," Tails offered walking out of the cell, "I can provide some information on our genetic composition or build some machines for you that are compatible with the chaos emeralds." "Tails!!" the others exclaimed in disbelief. Tails ignored them and stood before Major Grimes. "Deal?" he extended his hand as he waited for Major Grimes to speak. "It sounds reasonable...you have a deal." The two shook hands and were given looks of disgust by the boys. Maria and Cream didn't even look, they just turned away sadly to avoid seeing what was unfolding before them. "I'll leave you to sulk and make the choice your friend has just made. Come Tails, I'll let you tell me everything you know. And yes, I want you to make me a few machines. More specifically a..." He made his way down the hall and continued talking to Tails who followed while listening carefully. The door was heard close once again but all stayed silent.

After being taken out of the room, the girls were led to what seemed to be the soldiers' break room. It was a very huge room with couches and seats placed in many areas. It seemed their arrival was expected since everyone stood up and came up to them the moment they walked in. The girls prepared for the worse: interrogation, fighting, and possibly torture. But to their surprise, they were freed from their restraints and let go so they could move around as they pleased. "What's going on here!?" Blaze questioned them and took a fighting stance. Her guard was up and she was on high alert. Same with Amy and Rouge. "Take it easy! We're going to help you out this whole situation." said one of the soldiers who brought them there. "Please, why should we believe you???" scoffed Rouge. "Well we DID free you from your restraints even though we weren't supposed to. And we're not hurting you are we?" replied another soldier. "That's not enough"" countered Blaze. "I want answers now! What are you planning to do???" The girls were surrounded but they kept their distance and had each others backs in case anyone tried to do pull anything.

"Listen. The only reason we captured you in the first place was because we were told to. Major Grimes gave us the order but he never explained anything nor told us why to do it. After hearing the conversation you all had earlier, we became very suspicious of him. A few minutes ago we had a few guys go though his computer and look up anything that has to do with what he's planning. To our surprise, we found an entire file with all sorts of blueprints, documents, and procedures about the chaos emeralds. He wants to learn how to use their power for himself so he can become the most powerful man on the planet." explained Soldier 1. "Hmmmm, I suppose that would explain his strange behavior." Blaze figured. The soldier continued, "Yes. Now he may be our superior, but even we know that what he wants to do is insane. So we've decided to help you get your friends and escape."  The girls glanced at each other, as if mentally asking each other if they thought the soldiers were telling the truth. "Are you telling the truth? Because if we find out you're lying you're going to regret being born!" Blaze threatened and lit flames in her hands. Amy helped by taking out her hammer and Rouge looked as if she was ready to beat the living daylights out of anyone. They weren't about to let anyone fool them. "No we're not lying! We're going to help you!" said Soldier 2 backing up with the other men uneasily. "And to prove it, we'll give and tell you anything that can help you all escape." reasoned Soldier 3.

The girls kept their stance and thought about it for a moment. They stared directly into the soldiers eyes as well, trying to see if they could find any hint of lying or deceit. However they saw that the soldiers were dead serious, so they finally let loose and decided to trust them. "...Fine. We believe you. But don't think that we trust you completely." Blaze said and distinguished the flames. "But aren't you worried Major Grimes is going to walk in here and find us?" Amy asked nervously. "Oh don't worry about that. He never comes here. We don't think he even wants to be seen in here." said a solider standing near Rouge. "Oh. Alright then." Amy shrugged her shoulders and they all began forming an escape plan.
